I will post more on this later. It is not Cheeseberger but for instance, here is a song I helped out with. It's sort of a gussied up noise effort:

projectn2005

Issue 2: Soon I shall have a working link that will be the first remix of some of my work by someone else. Another lovely lady from the state of North Carolina has put some serious effort into her own version of Porchhouse Grandpa and I am seriously delighted.

Props goes out to Cindy from North Carolina!

Other issues sort of related, word has it that Mister Dan Foster will be producing several video efforts by a local comedy troop. Check the link fool.

Rob, whom I visited the other day is still up to his badass ways. (apparently, he's never heard of celine dion)
the review process itself seems obsolete and inapplicable to a "band" that so obviously doesn't give a fuck. but here goes: this song is perfectly balanced. the writing, arrangement, instrumentation, performance and production (words i should put quotes around) are all treated like stray dogs. one can almost sense a disdain for the songwriting and playing processes in the wantonly apathetic just-press-record style of this... "work". i would call this 'creative minimalism' or 'po-mo sub-low anti-art'. like bryan adams on heroin with a broken right arm, doin a doritos commercial at gunpoint. and who wouldn't want to hear that?"

Here is what he had to say about Burning Horses:

"i can tell you spent alot of time on those lyrics. really, this review should confront the cheeseberger vs. at home abortion kit conflict. if there ever was one. i cant help but wonder if this song would sound better sped-up or slowed-down, but at present tempo it's still better than most anything else"

Here is what he said about the song Larry:

"weird and disturbing."

Here is what he said about the song Raliegh:

"new favorite band."

What does all this mean? Well it means this guy is kick ass and that if you ever get the chance to see Meh live or purchase any of their albums then you should do that because it probably is what the devil wants.

Who the hell updates blogs anymore?!

I don't.

Not out of spite. I am going to his house to eat a deerberger. Probably tuesday.
Going to see Lozenge, The Arch, and some other bands on the 25th of this month down at the Lemp Arts Center. Should be fun. Maybe I will get a headache.

Looks like Richard moved to CHicago. The band Isabelle was tired of Saint Louis and all of its MTV minded kiddies. Can't say I blame them. Saint Louis is no place for budding young and talented musicians to waste their time at unless they make pop music and like doing covers. Covers make the little tween girls shake their butts and dance to attract the alpha male so they can possibly make babies that will corrupt the gene pool even more.

It is a shame because Richard was going to be an un-official drummer for CHeeseberger. We dont even have a drummer man! Of course then again, we aren't even really a band, are we? My first look and laugh at "noize". It's completely annoying and will probably never see the light of day but it was good to actually feel like messing around again on my own. Haven't really done that in a while.

Basically I took a two chord guitar song and streched it out with all kinds of annoying weird effects. I really think I should be shot in the face for it. In a way however I wanted to see what it felt like to make a song like that. It didn't feel like anything.

At most I would conclude that the only person who would like a song such as this would be a person who only likes songs that other people hate. Cheeseberger is all for those people you know?

Jim - who used to be in the Monads stopped by today and was very kind in just hanging out and entertaining my children. Jim Herr is a super cool person, that's all I am going to say about that.

Except he also brought his bagpipes. He played them in the garage since they are so loud, and man are they ever loud. Loud but very neat.

Hat tip to Jim Herr, a great man and citizen of these here America's.

Success

Or?
Ok, not success. We had a session Friday night. Wasn't terribly successful. The rum got the upper hand.
I had to sleep over at Dan's house. I slept in his "studio". Dan is in the process of converting several hundred VHS to DVD or categorizing them to sell them on ebay. As such there are several stacks of VHS by the hundreds on the floor. Dan asked that I sleep with the lights on so that if I woke up to pee or whatever I wouldn't knock the stacks over. I argued the point with him to turn the lights off based on this solid argument: I was no longer wearing shoes and therefore it was impossible for me to be clumsy enough to do such a thing.

Is that how it was Dan? I don't know. Drinking is silly and pathetic sometimes.

1995

I believe it was 1995. I am not too sure really but it seems that it was at least 10 years ago. Rob and I were out running the streets of Saint Charles drinking. This was sort of a common occurence. We end up at this biker bar named Bikini Grill or some stupid shit like that. You know how bars in the midwest like to have that "beach theme". I find it repulsive that people need to pretend they are in some other shitty part of the world, but thats just me. It wasn't a busy night. Probably a Tuesday or something.
So when we get in there is a band on stage named "Metal Black God" or some shit like that playing a medley of Metallica and Sammy Hagar covers. Rob knew the guitarist personally so somehow during their break between sets this band asked Cheeseberger to play.
Rob started in on a song that we had made up named "rockstar". A very stupid song. Apparently though I was to the point of no return and changed some of the lyrics for the occasion. I began singing something to the effect of, "all bikers are gay and their mothers eat goat ass and cock".
I am not sure that was it really but it made the owner of the bar quickly run to the stage with some bouncers and escort us to the street.
We laughed and walked to the next bar.

Other variations of this have us getting in a full out bar brawl with several bikers ending up hospitalized but to be honest I am not really sure what the reality is. All I do know is that the next day I woke up around 3 pm and had no idea where my car was.

That used to happen all too frequently.

Well then

it has been a while since I have had anything to say about the Cheeseberger. I must admit that there really hasn't been too much activity. These things happen all the time. For anyone that does read this however I must state that SOON and/or reasonably soon there will be more activity.

Issues:

1. Rob is in Colorado hunting elk. We wish him success as I could deal with some free meat.

2. Dan has just moved back to Saint Louis and has personal obligations that must be completed before any further work can be commited.

3. I recently had my 3rd child. It is a difficult thing to raise 3 children.

4. Don Perry is on the prowl.

5. The bunnies ate all of my peppers in my garden and it has depressed me. Hell even Pink Floyd at times (yes cheeseberger are a Harvest band!) There's a lush sound to it all but most noticeable is that some elements are very shy - they are positoned way in background like somebody didn't want to be too visible. And so the unsual sound mixture seems more defined by what is hidden.
Aligned with that is a general uncertainty to the music, the tracks are well formed but somehow lack that extra twiddly catch (the guitar solo!) ... the extra item that would make it a popular song. Cheeseberger seem to be content with being with you rather than wanting to convince you of their worth. It's genial, not crucial, more pot than speed.

There used to be a catagory of music I loosely called Sunday Afternoon, because you'd play it at a club on Sunday afternoon from about lunchtime and it would be twisted but mellow. Lots of dub, some noisescapes. This doesn't sound like that but would fit right in.

Gad Domn

No news. Fuck, put a pretty girl in a bikini and she will sell boil salve to the boil-less.

Received many many new loops as a gift from Tom Ellard and others on his KDX server. So far I have only farted about with a few "eastern" loops. For those of you that like the more exotic sounding things the third album (whenever it comes out?) will be right up your ass playing a sitar... or something like that.

Spoke with Jorg a few days back. Told him I had an idea that we should package a cartoon booklet with the next cd (which is titled: Lamprey upon the Plesiasaur) as it is going to be a farily silly affair. Jorg thought that was a great idea. So do I. Now I must sell that idea to Dan as he is a better artist than I. I believe that it might be ready late this year or early next year? I don't know, Laterax Records seem to be busy little beavers what with the signing of several new bands and all. That's a good thing, Laterax peoples are good peoples.

Also, if you were reading this blog, which I doubt, I have a brief explanation for the whole racist homophobe thingy. It's not true that I, TIM, are a racist or a homophobe. But it is true that if I was I wouldn't really care. I love everyone and I don't hate the haters. I embrace all and all embraces me.... um

Well never mind, the whole point was to bring to your attention that there are racist that are named Tim but this Tim is not. However, it is true that Dan is a whoremonger. Rob, well Rob can't defend himself against any accusations so we will leave him be.

Finally, I keep wondering where and if Ricky is or if JIM will ever make a quick appearance on our blog as our false manager or anti-manager. This is prophecy?

Ok, I am not making sense. The post started out ok and turned to shit.

Cheers,
Tim

More technics.

Well, what the fuck. Actually, I like blogging. What the hell did I just write?

It's odd thinking in terms of "I've only got four weeks to do a bunch of shit and then I'm gone," but those are the terms I have. By the end of next month, I'll be back in Missouri and then the Cheeseberger will live again!

Since I'm off in my limbo world here, cut off from all that is good and creative, I've been spending my time learning new programs (Live and Audition) and figuring out all the cute features of my new keyboard. And practicing keyboarding in general.

I have three days off a week, and I fill them with lots of other projects. I have two short movies to work on, one longer one, a couple DVD projects, and yet another writing project (which probably ain't gonna go nowhere). Because of the time limit, I can't even watch a movie without thinking I'm a lazy bastard who should be doing something constructive.

Overall, I remain happy.

Here are three ideas for full length concept albums:

1. A guy falls in love with a girl, ends up hating her, kills her, and then moves to another state to open a singles bar.

2. A musical guide to building your own computer.

3. A screed pointing out the stupid shit that people do throughout their lives. Not the horrible, hateful, mean stuff that people do to one another, but the minor, idiotic stuff that everyone does to make the world a shittier, more irritiating place.

Also, an album that demonstrates the politics of Cheeseberger as a whole. This will make people angry, especially since, collectively, we don't fit in any set category of political/social thought. And I believe that two of us are racists, which will add drama and insight for group discussions on message boards. I'm fairly sure Tim hates queers.

(Actually, he doesn't, but I wrote that to all the people named Tim who are homohaters, as sort of a shout out, but also just to make them feel paranoid that I'm onto them.)

I guess I am only a fourth of Cheeseberger, considering the master mouth of Don. I'm glad to be a fourth instead of a third. Being a third is kinda creepy, like you're there but they don't want you. As a fourth you are needed, if only to get drinks.

If this post gets eaten by the internet gods, I am going to start posting pictures of my dead dog.

The Technical Side

My post got eaten! Who cares?

Anyway, I have finished one HUGE obligation to myself and are quite happy with myself. In order to celebrate I sat down and thought of a few sounds that I liked and then went to work at the pc and started making another song.
It is not quite finished but to those I have played it to in this state claim they like it quite a bit.
But this in itself isn't the reason for posting this. The reason is that I plan to include some sounds from a tape that I made of myself jabbering like a complete idiot some 13 years ago.
I find this quite nice as it sort of brings me back full circle to what a complete mess I was 13 years ago.
It was this mess that helped to create Cheeseberger. It was this mess that produced drinking bouts and fits of irrational behavior that are legandary. Well legandary in my mind anyway.
So in effect, at least I am back up with a full tank. Not sure if I register yet and not too sure if I even care but I am in the mood. Not much actually. I have finally decided that I am going to purchase Ableton Live as I see that it will be the best program available to bring all the different talents of Cheeseberger together smoothly. Up till this point all editing was either done with a 4 track using ACID 4.0 and Soundforge. (note that 4 track was not used on all songs - if that even matters) I have also purchased a copy of FL Studios but I am not too sure that I care for the interface that much. I suppose if I have a bit longer to mess with it some day it may grow on me.
Dan has access to this blog now and I suspect that occasionally he will be adding posts to this.

Yeah, I took an internet test!

Rongorongo (Easter Island, C.E. 1800)You are RONGORONGO. The drummer from the more than talented band Isabelle will sit in on the session to hopefully give any new recordings we make the extra umpff that we desire.

More News: There is a rumour that Laterax Records is considering putting out a old school 45 record that will feature a song named, "Cheeseberger Theme Song". This is an extremely goofy ass song and sometimes I am ashamed of it but we must all learn from shame.
What we must learn I am unsure.

More News: A dutch music publication gave Cheeseberger its first "real" review. Read it here:
http://www.popinstituut.nl/recensies/cheeseberger___uitgebergerd.2773.html
It is in Dutch but I assure you that it says nice things. I swear it.

More News: No more news for today!

test post

test
